Van Drew: Information session on Parkway tree cutting scheduled
State Sen. Jeff Van Drew said that an information session on the Garden State Parkway tree cutting will be held Aug. 4 at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey
In a statement on the upcoming information session regarding the Garden State Parkway Widening Project in southern Atlantic County, Van Drew said Transportation Commissioner James Simpson has committed to holding the session following inquiries from Van Drew about the significant tree clearing along the throughway.
“This project has raised tremendous concern in my legislative district,” said Van Drew. “For months, I heard from constituents with questions about this project, from how much it would cost, to why there was a need for such massive tree-clearing along the roadway. At my request, Transportation Commissioner Simpson committed to holding a local public informational session so that residents could get a full overview of the project from the state’s transportation professionals without having to travel to Trenton.
Van Drew said the session will provide residents with a clear understanding of the project, and will allow them to speak directly to the engineers who are directing it.
The information session is scheduled to take place Aug. 4, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.
